These terms apply to every camera rental from rentcanonae (“we”, “us”), operating in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. By booking a rental you agree to them. Please read sections 03, 04 and 06 carefully — they set out the deposit, the mandatory insurance, and who pays if the equipment is damaged.
A booking is confirmed once we have acknowledged your dates and received the deposit. We require a clear photo of your Emirates ID or passport before handover. We may decline or cancel a booking at our discretion.
You must be at least 18 years old to rent from us.
Rates are those displayed on our website at the time of booking. A rental day is a 24-hour period beginning at handover. Payment is due at or before handover unless agreed otherwise in writing.
A refundable security deposit is required for every rental, calculated as a percentage of your total booking amount:
The deposit is returned to you in full once the equipment has been returned and inspected and found undamaged, normally the same day.
If there is any damage, loss or theft, the deposit is retained in full and any further repair or replacement cost is charged to you on top. The deposit is a security, not a cap — where costs exceed it, the balance remains payable.
Travel insurance is optional and applies only if you are travelling with the equipment. It is charged at AED 25 per day for the length of the rental and is added to your booking total. It is not refundable once the rental has started.
It is required if you are taking the equipment outside the UAE, and we must agree to this in writing before handover. Rentals used within the UAE do not need it.
Taking travel insurance does not transfer responsibility for the equipment away from you. Damage, loss and theft remain your responsibility under section 06, and you remain liable for repair and replacement costs.
We do not cover any repair or replacement costs. From the moment the equipment is handed to you until it is returned to us, you are fully responsible for it.
If the camera or any part of the kit is damaged, lost or stolen while in your care, you pay the full cost of repair or replacement. This applies whether or not the cause was accidental, and includes drops, impact damage, water and sand damage, cracked or faulty screens, lens and shutter faults, and missing or damaged accessories such as batteries, chargers, memory cards, tripods and pouches.
Where repair is possible we will charge the actual repair cost and provide the invoice. Where the item cannot be economically repaired, or is lost or stolen, we will charge the replacement cost of an equivalent item. Payment is due within 7 days of us notifying you of the amount.
If the equipment is stolen, you must report it to the police and provide us with a copy of the report.
Late returns are charged at the standard daily rate for each additional day or part-day. If you want to extend, message us before your return time and we will confirm whether the camera is available.
Delivery within Abu Dhabi is free. Other emirates are available for a delivery fee agreed at the time of booking. You are responsible for being available at the agreed time and place; repeated failed attempts may be charged.
Cancel more than 24 hours before your rental starts and your deposit is refunded in full. Within 24 hours, we may retain a portion to cover the reserved slot. If we cancel for any reason, you receive a full refund.
Anything you shoot belongs to you. We format the memory card on return unless you ask us to hold it. We do not copy, keep or use your images, and we never share them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Nothing here limits any rights you have under applicable UAE consumer protection law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
